Poetry Party – Fox Coffee
November 14, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm UTC+0
FreeWe here at Cadence Collective are thankful for so many things. One, that we get to share every 2nd Monday of the month having a Poetry Party. Two, that this month’s features are the ever-giving Alisha Attella and Scott Creley. Three, we get to hang out at Fox Coffee House while we listen! Join hosts, G. Murray Thomas and me, Sarah Thursday, for our open reading and featured poetry series. Sign ups begin at 6:45 and reading begins about 7:00.
Scott Noon Creley holds an MFA in writing from California State University, Long Beach, and a BA in writing from UC Riverside. His work has been featured in the collection Bear Flag Republic, and in quality journals as diverse as Sentence, Miramar, and Carnival Literary Magazine. He is the 2014 writer in residence for The dA Center for the Arts in Pomona, California. He is one of the founding directors of The San Gabriel Valley Literary Festival, a non-profit that promotes literacy in Southern California with an annual festival and free writing workshops. His first collection, Digging a Hole to the Moon, is now available from Spout Hill Press. He lives with his wife, painter & photographer Carly McKean Creley, in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Visit ScottCreley.com for news on his writing, book releases, and graphic design.
Alisha Attella lives in Long Beach with her two blond children and one black cat. From their tiny apartment she listens to the night conversations between the fog horns and the oil horses. They talk about life and books and strange people and chess, and in the mornings she writes it all down while everything still smells like the sea. She’s the Managing Editor at Mojave River Press & Review, and her own work can be found in such nice publications as East Jasmine Review, San Pedro River Review, and elsewhere. Find her on Facebook or follow her on Twitter.
